Thank you for registering for the 2010 Annual Mulhurst Lutheran Camp Bike-A-Thon on May 29, 2010.  Your participation and commitment to this project is much appreciated.

The Bike-A-Thon is in its fifth year and we hope for it to be a major fund-raiser for years to come.  We are planning an exciting day of fellowship centred around an activity which will really give you a sense of accomplishment when it is finished.  The route will take us around Pigeon Lake and is a beautiful 65 km in length.

Come on and join us, you know you wanna!!!

Come one come all!

Our group is riding tonite. We will stay off the highways and enjoy the backroads as we wind through our lovely city tonite. The wind is forecast to be 10kmh or below so conditions should be good for a ride.

Come enjoy the fresh air, exercise, and fellowship of your fellow riders.

When 2 is Enough…

After getting some upsetting news near the end of my day at the shop, I really was needing a ride. So after venting my frustrations upon my dear patient wife, she kicked me out after a hasty dinner to Leduc for the first real Jolt ride of the season. She said I need to leave … I mean go for a ride!
As I arrived late (as usual)  to the parking lot no one is there, sigh, great 😦
Disappointed I park and wait. As several minutes go by  I ponder my day, my mood, no one arrives. Sigh, do I wait a bit more or do I drive home? Peering west I see it is raining in the distance. Man, I was looking so forward to riding, I came all this way in. . .

Just then I see a cyclist turning into the lot through my rear view mirror … Its Lyle ! YEA!!!!

As I get my trusty steed ready for the ride I tell Lyle I’m relieved we were going for a “bit of a ride” on account  of how my day ended. We chat as we start out about the pressures and stresses of being in bisness. It’s nice to have some one to ride and chat with.

After a bit we are off …  getting a warmed up along the path to the south of Leduc where we join up 616  with highway 2 for a fast rip north to the Nisku Tim Hortons. Bit of a head wind but the traffic is good.  After a brief respite and a pull on the water bottle we head  north and then over to 45 street and get a bit of a tailwind back to Leduc and 50 street. The weather turns out to be great and the conversation and cardio work out is just what I need. Lyle is a great listener and good for an occasional guffaw or two, so the company seems just what I need. We eventually arrive at his place for a beverage of choice and wind down. 23klm/27.7 avg kph for tonights ride.

2 is enough for a great Ride!  I feel alot better.

Too bad you missed the ride tonight;

See ya Wednesday@ 6:45 – Maybe you will need to get out, have a good chat, a Laugh or two and relieve some  stress to make your Day better!

God Bless – Larry
