Below is an email we received. If anyone is interested in participating I encourage you to go on out for the ride. Have a great Long Weekend.
I was given your email address from one of the Lions Club members that you talked to last year during our event. We our hosting our 9th Annual Pigeon Lake Pedal at the Pigeon Lake Provincial Park on June 29th. I was wondering if anyone in your club would like to take part in this years event. We raise money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation and this year the money raised is going towards Clinical Trials at the Cross Cancer Institute. All the information is available online at www.albertacancerfoundation.ca/pigeonlakepedal2013 including registration.
I just thought I would contact you and let you know about this worthwhile event should anyone of you be interested.

Hey Everyone! Long time no chat. Larry & Alice are away on a Cycling Holiday so I will be leading the ride this Wednesday, assuming we are not rained out….Again!!!
I am looking forward to leading the charge around Leduc, so come on out and join me.
We meet at the LAC at 6:45pm
See you there!
Come out and celebrate Lyle B Day Wednesday (Blame the Mer for letting it out of the bag!) Larry
Okay here is the deal, if its raining when its time to leave for your ride then probably no one else will be out. If its not raining then make the attempt – someone else will probably share in your misery if it starts WHILE you are riding.
I will not be riding tonight as I have a cold /flu thing going on. But that does mean there is no ride! IF its nice enough then join up with others at the church !
If the weather keeps doing this we may have to switch the ride day to Monday or Thursday!
If the weather is nice on the weekend we may go for a ride in Devon around their paths. Stay tuned for details.
After a somewhat damp week and feeling a bit of a want for a few miles under my tires Wouter called up Friday and asked if I was busy on Saturday. I promptly replied “yep going for a ride!” He replied “I thought so, lets do it.” So after 1:00 pm, after my shift at the shop Wouter called and said he had a hankering to meander around Millet. So remembering the route Godspoke took when John and Teresa escorted us around a few years back, we headed out to Millet.
We had a great afternoon wandering around the acreages along nice paved and quiet roads. Stopping here and there enjoying the sights, the nicely groomed yards, a few horses, you know.
Then we did mighty battle against the onerous wind gods on the return. After a mighty and prolonged battle we over came the Furies of the Howling Gusts and did retrieve the standard that was plucked from our midst unawares midway of our trek. T’was unknown to us of the Wily Siroccos vile trickery until the real battle was upon us! (*for explanation see end of post) But we over came and were Victorious in our Quest! ( cheers and reverie noises from the crowds reading )
I do enjoy riding a lot, but I enjoy riding even more when I am with others who are just riding for the scenery, camaraderie and potential adventure! We had the luxury of knowing our route, well mostly, today. But sometimes its even more fun to head down a road and turn just to see where it takes you.
When was the last time you just went out in the country for an adventure ride? Want to go for a ride? Call up one or more from the group and see who shows up. Sometimes those are the the most memorable. If you want to be on the spontaneous adventure ride list leave a comment; who knows what may lie ahead…..
(*it was a bit windy on the way back and Wouter lost his new Renu Cycle flag at the railway tracks but we found it on our way back, hooray! The other description just sounded better)
Okay here is the deal, if its raining when its time to leave for your ride then probably no one else will be out. If its not then make the attempt – someone else will probably share in your misery if it starts WHILE you are riding.
SO that’s the new rule.
Me, I’ll be riding tonight one way or the other, here in Leduc on my trike, if no rain, if it is raining then around Calmar in my velo with its new roof.
I have made a self commitment to ride every day in June – regardless what the weather, time of day or where I am at.
ITS BIKE MONTH!
plus I need to burn the calories so I don’t regain any #s
