Smart Bicycle Brake Light Review

I ordered a couple of really interesting rear lights I read about on Bent Rider On Line. Basically its a rear light that comes on when you slow down or brake. For the price I thought it was a worth a try. This past Monday I finally got it. I installed it on our ICE Adventure trike. and then made a video review.  Take a look at it here:

Its Made in China and with a lot of “cheaper” accessories from there, it has a few quirks. Its has an on and off switch to prevent coming on when stored. I have not been able to do so, yet. It does not come with a rack mount, but the one from Planet bike will work great. Plus because it works somewhat like the switch in your home thermostat; it has to be set at the right angle or it won’t work properly. Just take your time, I had to bent the rear rack mount plate to get the right angle. but, it works. It was –20c outside when we filmed it my shop and Alice rides slow, yet it seemed to work fine; so it should work better we when you are slowing down from a greater speed.

So what do I think? When you are being followed by fellow cyclists or a vehicle I think it will help. I would ride with a normal battery powered light on all the time too.  As this seems to be a “first run”. we will see if the distributor “ups” the quality in the future. I would like to see some of the bigger more well known light suppliers to incorporate an accelerometer chip in their lights to do the same if not better!

Going south for the Winter?

These people look like they have some nice short Bike tours during the winter months. Check them out! From reading thier Ride Reports. They sound Very much like the types of tours we do. Well maybe a bit longer days but the setup sounds good.  Check it out. who knows, one of there tours might be right up your Alley!

Boys Nite Out Friday Dec 7

Hi Guys

I want to invite you to a BOYS NIGHT OUT this Friday Dec 7. Just an opportunity to get together with some of us who ride together, or know each other, etc.  A chance to see one another a couple of times throughout the winter to do a GUY thing! Besides it gives your Significant Other a chance to do her thing, like do some Xmas shopping for you,  So here is the scoop:

Looks Like Leduc Theatre will not be showing movie  SkyFall this weekend after all. Ratz! So we’ll head up to Edmonton South Common for the 7 pm show. If you want to Car Pool Meet at the Leduc Alliance church at 6:10  so we can drive up and get in at a reasonable time.  If you can’t make it at the church Try to get to the Theater by 6:45. After the movie we can choose to go to a local eatery and hang out or if you want to go home that’s up to you. If you think you may come RSVP. If not then have a great weekend.

We’ll meet before the Movie at Leduc Theater  for the Bond Film: SkyFall, then head out after for something to munch on and have our own GAB FEST! Everyone Welcome. Come on out! Get away so the S.O. can do some Xmas Shopping! Details as we get closer to FRIDAY
